Means and Opportunities: Student Assistants
Open positions for student assistants (IT support)
We welcome applications to student assistant positions
in IT support for the first funding period! We especially
encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to apply.
What we offer

A lively international research environment in theoretical
mathematics.

A shared desk in an office in the Faculty of Mathematics
of the UR.

The opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety
of IT support/administration tasks.

Contracts start on October 1, 2026. We offer six-months
contracts with the possibility of extensions.

Type of positions:
-
SHK:
standard option: 39 hours/month
(modifications might be possible, depending on the individual
situation)
-
SHK mit Bachelor:
standard option: 34 hours/month
(modifications might be possible, depending on the individual
situation)
What we expect
-
Experience in system administration (we will run
MacOS, Windows, and Linux machines).

Support for hybrid events (video/audio for
zoom streaming of lectures, research talks, and conferences).

Administration of further IT infrastructure
(web services, chat system, ...).
-
English language proficiency is required
(for communication with international research staff
and guests).
-
German language proficiency is desired (for communication
with the administrative bodies of the UR).

e.g.,
system administration (which systems? which tasks?),
website management (which systems? which tasks?),
programming/scripting skills (which languages? which projects?),
etc.

A list of ongoing/planned SHK/SHK mit Bachelor
contracts in the year 10/2026--09/2027,
including starting date, end date, volume.
(So that we can ensure that formal limitations are
not violated.)
