K-Theory, Sheaves, and Geometric Topology

Description

Recent years have seen advances in algebraic K-theory, hermitian K-theory and sheaf theory, with significant applications to questions and problems in geometric topology. This workshop aims to connect researchers interested in these methods and their applications with those who are already using and developing such tools.

The workshop will be held during the week March 8 – March 12 2027 at the University of Regensburg.

Speakers

The programme will feature lecture series by

  • Thomas Nikolaus (Münster)
  • Fabian Hebestreit (Bielefeld), Wolfgang Steimle (Augsburg)

as well as individual talks by

  • Ko Aoki (Copenhagen)
  • Oscar Harr (Stockholm)
  • Kaif Hilman (MPIM Bonn)
  • Dominik Kirstein (Mainz)
  • Christian Kremer (Copenhagen)
  • Georg Lehner (Münster)
  • Catrin Mair (Münster)
  • Guglielmo Nocera (IHÉS Paris)
  • Maxime Ramzi (Münster)
  • Marco Volpe (Mainz)

We are also planning for a small number of contributed talks.

Venue

All talks will take place in tba at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Regensburg. (Caveat: This is different from the department Mathematik und Informatik of the OTH).

The registration and coffee breaks are at tba.

Information on how to get to the University of Regensburg is available here. If you arrive by bus at the Central Bus Station of the university, you will find the mathematics department a bit further southeast, behind the Mensa.

Hybrid options

Information will follow later.

Practical Information

Internet: Access to eduroam and the public wifi BayernWLAN is available throughout the Mathematics Building.

Accomodation: Regensburg is a tourist destination and we encourage guests to book their rooms as early as possible. The university campus is situated at the southern outskirts of the city. If you book accomodation in the city center, it will take either a bus ride or a walk of around 45 minutes to get to the university.

Here is a non-comprehensive list of hotels in the area:

Of course, there are many more hotels available, including various budget options.

Family-friendly campus: The UR family service offers various rooms and services for families. For further information, please consult this webpage.
